When and where results appear
Written results come a few weeks after the test, and you find them by logging in to the official results portal run by HK-dir. Speaking results can arrive on a different timeline. The exact dates depend on the test round, so check the official schedule rather than guessing.
How the levels are reported
You get a separate level for each of the four skills: reading, listening, writing and speaking. The scale runs below A1, A1, A2, B1 and B2. Because the parts are independent, a result like B2 reading and B1 writing is completely normal, and it tells you precisely where to aim next.
What counts as a pass
There is no single pass mark for the Norskprøve. You pass a level on a part if you are awarded that level on it. What you need depends on your goal: many jobs, university courses and health authorization require B2, while permanent residence and citizenship currently ask for lower oral levels. So read your result against the requirement you are actually chasing.
What to do next, either way
If you reached the level you needed, submit it where it counts and move on. If one part fell short, do not despair and do not retake blindly. Identify the skill that missed, drill that specific part with graded practice, and book the next available date once your readiness is genuinely there.
